Successful cooperation with OTH Amberg-Weiden. Together with the East Bavarian Technical University Amberg-Weiden and the market Luhe-Wildenau, VALEO IT Services International GmbH has successfully carried out the practical project "Rent-A-Bauhof" for the development of a sharing platform of special machines for Bavarian municipalities.

A big thank you goes to all project participants such as the mayor of Luhe-Wildenau Sebastian Hartl, Professor Dr. Frank Schäfer and VALEO IT project manager Simon Kirchner as well as the six students of the OTH from the study programs "Master Engineering" and "Master Intercultural Technology and Business Management".

Rent a Bauhof" - this project idea, jointly developed by VALEO IT Services International GmbH and students at OTH Amberg-Weiden, was the winner of the Bavaria-wide ideas competition "Kommunal? Digital!". The project also impressed Digital Minister Judith Gerlach. Last week, the minister came to VALEO IT in Luhe-Wildenau to find out more about the project.

The funded project "Rent a Bauhof" creates an online platform where municipalities across counties can help themselves to a pool of Bauhof vehicles and equipment that would otherwise often be idle throughout the year. The OTH Amberg-Weiden students involved in the project with Prof. Dr. Frank Schäfer explained the details of the idea and the next development steps.

The project is part of the ideas competition "Kommunal? Digital!" ideas competition. A total of ten projects with innovative, digital ideas for sustainability in Bavarian municipalities were selected and will now be implemented step by step. The projects will each receive funding of up to 500,000 euros and will serve as models for other municipalities. Scientific research is an integral part of the program. The municipalities in the competition contribute at least 10 percent of the total project costs.
