Cooperation with the OTH Amberg-Weiden
Together with Mayor Sebsastian Hartl, Managing Director Bastian Braun and Project Manager Simon Kirchner welcomed Master's students from OTH Amberg-Weiden who were interested in the project. The municipality of Luhe-Wildenau is one of the winners of the Bavaria-wide ideas competition "Kommunal? Digital!" competition. More than 75 projects applied in total. The winners were then selected by a jury chaired by Digital Minister Judith Gerlach and made up of representatives from the leading municipal associations and a representative from the business world.
Municipal building yards require various machines to fulfill their extensive tasks. Some of these machines are highly specialized, expensive to purchase and maintain and are often only needed for a few days a year. An online platform will enable local authorities to offer their machines and vehicles for hire to other local authorities.
Thanks to the web-based platform, the devices and conditions can be clearly displayed. The booking, issue, return and invoicing of equipment is paperless. The aim is to save resources and achieve better utilization of existing machines.
The students' task is to carry out a market analysis, define a project name, research and evaluate comparable applications and draw up a plan for setting up the application and process structures. This also includes checking the legal requirements that must be complied with.
